Getting Started

Step 1: Choose Your AI Tool

If you need... Use... Why
Deep strategic analysis Claude Superior reasoning for complex business scenarios
Quick iterations ChatGPT Fast turnaround for brainstorming and drafts
Research synthesis NotebookLM Grounds responses in your uploaded documents
Market data Perplexity Access to real-time information and sources

Step 2: Select the Right Prompt Category

Need to prepare for a first client meeting? → discovery-questions.md
Facing pushback on pricing or scope? → objection-handling.md
Reviewing a partnership agreement? → contract-review.md
Planning your negotiation strategy? → negotiation-frameworks.md

Step 3: Customize Variables

Every prompt contains [VARIABLES] that you should replace with your specific context:

[INDUSTRY] → e.g., "agroindustry", "fintech", "logistics"
[COMPANY_SIZE] → e.g., "$2M-$10M annual revenue"
[DECISION_MAKER] → e.g., "VP of Operations", "CEO", "Head of Procurement"
[REGION] → e.g., "Andean region", "Southern Cone", "Central America"
[PRODUCT/SERVICE] → e.g., "supply chain software", "consulting retainer"

Prompt Customization Guide

The CONTEXT-TASK-FORMAT Framework

For best results, structure your prompts using CTF:

CONTEXT: Who you are, who the client is, what the situation is
TASK: What specific output you need
FORMAT: How you want the output structured

Example:

CONTEXT: I'm a B2B commercial strategy consultant preparing for a discovery
call with the Director of Supply Chain at a mid-size hospital network in
Ecuador ($15M annual procurement budget). They're evaluating logistics
software vendors.

TASK: Generate 12 discovery questions that uncover their pain points,
decision timeline, budget constraints, and competitive alternatives.

FORMAT: Output as a numbered list, organized by category (Pain Points,
Timeline, Budget, Competition). Add a brief note after each question
explaining what intelligence it's designed to capture.

Best Practices

✅ Do This

  1. Always provide industry context — AI responses improve dramatically with specific industry details
  2. Specify the decision-maker's role — A CFO cares about different things than a VP of Operations
  3. Include company size/revenue — This calibrates the complexity of suggestions
  4. Iterate in the same conversation — Build on previous responses for deeper insights
  5. Request specific formats — Tables, checklists, email drafts, scripts — be explicit
  6. Add LATAM cultural context — Mention the country and business culture norms when relevant

❌ Avoid This

  1. Don't use prompts without customization — Generic prompts produce generic results
  2. Don't skip the context step — Missing context = irrelevant suggestions
  3. Don't take outputs at face value — Always validate AI suggestions against your experience
  4. Don't use a single prompt for everything — Chain multiple prompts for complex tasks
  5. Don't forget to save winning prompts — Build your personal library of refinements

Workflow Integration

Pre-Call Preparation (30 minutes)

Time | Activity | Prompt File
---------|--------------------------------|---------------------------
0-5 min | Research client on LinkedIn | (manual research)
5-15 min | Generate discovery questions | discovery-questions.md
15-20 min| Prepare objection responses | objection-handling.md
20-25 min| Draft meeting agenda | negotiation-frameworks.md
25-30 min| Review & personalize all outputs| (manual refinement)

Post-Call Follow-Up (20 minutes)

1. Input call notes into AI tool
2. Use negotiation-frameworks.md → "Post-Meeting Analysis" prompt
3. Generate personalized follow-up email
4. Update CRM with AI-generated summary
5. Prepare proposal using contract-review.md templates

Weekly Pipeline Review (45 minutes)

1. Export pipeline data from CRM
2. Use discovery-questions.md → "Pipeline Risk Assessment" prompt
3. Generate prioritization matrix
4. Identify stalled deals → use objection-handling.md
5. Update tracking spreadsheet

Troubleshooting

"The output is too generic"

→ Add more context. Include company name, industry specifics, deal size, and decision-maker role.

"The suggestions don't fit LATAM culture"

→ Explicitly mention the country and add cultural context:

"Consider that in Ecuador, business relationships typically require
2-3 in-person meetings before discussing pricing. The decision-making
process often involves family members if the company is family-owned."

"I'm getting repetitive responses"

→ Add constraints:

"Provide responses I haven't seen before. Avoid standard questions like
'What keeps you up at night?' Focus on industry-specific, unexpected
angles that demonstrate deep expertise."

"The negotiation advice is too aggressive"

→ Adjust the tone modifier:

"Use a collaborative, relationship-first negotiation style appropriate
for LATAM business culture. Focus on long-term partnership value rather
than short-term wins."

Advanced Techniques

1. Prompt Chaining

Use outputs from one prompt as inputs for the next:

Step 1: discovery-questions.md → Generate industry-specific questions
Step 2: Feed client's likely answers into objection-handling.md
Step 3: Use objection responses to inform negotiation-frameworks.md strategy
Step 4: Generate final proposal outline using contract-review.md

2. Role-Playing Simulations

"Act as [DECISION_MAKER_ROLE] at [COMPANY_TYPE].
I will pitch my [PRODUCT/SERVICE].
Challenge me with realistic objections based on the [INDUSTRY] context.
After each exchange, score my response (1-10) and suggest improvements."

3. Competitive Intelligence

"Based on publicly available information about [COMPETITOR],
generate a comparison matrix showing:
- Their likely pricing structure
- Key differentiators vs. our offering
- Probable objections they'll raise about us
- Counter-arguments we can prepare

Format as a battle card I can reference during calls."

4. Multi-Language Output

"Generate this output in both English and Spanish.
For the Spanish version, use business-formal Latin American Spanish
(not Spain Spanish). Ensure industry-specific terminology is accurate
for the [COUNTRY] market."

📊 Track Your Results

Create a simple spreadsheet to measure prompt effectiveness:

Date Prompt Used Client/Deal Output Quality (1-5) Result Notes

Review monthly. Drop prompts scoring < 3, double down on 4-5 rated prompts.
