phoebus-sns

Phoebus (https://github.com/ControlSystemStudio/phoebus) product for SNS

  • Site-specific PVProposalProvider (SNSPVProposals).
  • Distribution created by ant dist includes site-specific settings.ini

Complete Build and Distribution with Documentation

build.sh builds all products for SNS, and the best way to understand the build process might be to read through the script and execute its commands one-by-one in a terminal.

Build & Run with Maven

mvn -DskipTests clean install
java -jar product-sns/target/product-sns-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

The maven build downloads all dependencies into dependencies/phoebus-target/target/lib/.

Build & Run with Ant

The ant build is completely local, using dependencies/phoebus-target/target/lib/.

ant clean
ant product
ant run
ant dist

Develop with IntelliJ IDEA

  • When IDEA is started, select "Clone Repository". For already running IDE, use "File", "New", "Project from version control". Either way, add these:

    When prompted for configuration, select "Maven project". Pick "in this window" when prompted how to open.

  • Build may fail because of missing pbrawclient. Needs manual (cd ../phoebus; mvn clean verify -f dependencies/pom.xml)

  • Menu Run, Edit Configurations:

    • '+ Application'
    • Name "SNS Product"
    • Select JDK like ...../jdk-21/Contents/Home
    • -cp product-sns
    • Modify options to "add VM options", then enter -Dphoebus.install=/path/to/phoebus-sns/product-sns
    • Class org.phoebus.product.Launcher
    • Working directory /path/to/phoebus-sns
