This thesis examined how pedestrian movement visualisations can be made more accessible for people with colour vision deficiency. Project Mobius was created and used as part of this thesis work, with crowd simulation outputs, BIM-authored building geometry, and VR-based evaluation used to study alternatives to conventional colour-dependent heatmaps.
Several parts of Project Mobius were developed directly through this research. In particular, the heatmap and 3D heatmap work grew out of the thesis and formed a substantial part of the early visualisation pipeline.
The HIT_ThesisWork module in the codebase reflects that origin. Much of its
original experiment-specific functionality is now redundant or has been moved
into other runtime modules, but it remains part of the project's development
history and documents how thesis-driven features fed into the broader system.
