Referencing values in other fields

Hi I am curious if there is a way to reference values in other fields in something like a html field.

What I am trying to do is have a form that someone fills out some values and then a text style object (html or something) that will print out some type of summary of the config placing in the values that were filled out in the rest of the form. Hope that makes sense

Yes of course..
Html field has an expression that is ran locally as javascript. You just make make something like :

((var1,var2)=>{
   return whatever expression can build html => copilot/chatgpt is awesome help
})('$(var1)','$(var2)')

Just make sure to wrap quotes if strings.

Thanks. I got a lot of it working. I am having some problems the javascript handling and I am not sure where I am going wrong.

I am attempting to generate a base config for a device that needs to be on it before you can push the ansible configuration

I am not getting anything generating in the html object with the below which with the help of Gemini I built. It worked fine until I added the default gateway stuff. I assume there are some limitations I am hitting. I am not sure if it is the run local vs server side limits on expressions I don't see a way to change it for an html object though.

Any suggestions

explain me what the idea is?
note that you should drop comments. the whole string is stripped from newlines. so respect semicolons too.

I am using this to deploy network gear based on info people put in the form, it generates a j2 and loads it onto the device. That works however the idea is the device needs a very basic config to get online so ansible can reach it and do its thing. My idea is to generate that basic config in a html object on the form that the user just copies and pastes into the device first.

It mostly works but some of the functions just cause it to not load like the above sample which looks at the IP address of the device that you put in the form and then generates the gateway from that ( first usable IP). I had another function that said if you had had a vrf specified then add that vrf into the html object that also broke it, etc.

Either way I basically need an object that shows information on a readable format that is decided based on the info filled out in the form.

I got this to work. your advice on removing the comments and flattening the code worked well and everything is working well now
