This policy covers the name AIWatch, the AIWatch wordmark and logo, and the official site at ai-watch.dev (together, the "Marks"). They identify the AIWatch project at github.com/bentleypark/aiwatch.
The AIWatch source code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (see LICENSE). That licence lets you use, modify and redistribute the code. It does not grant any right to use the Marks. This policy says what you may do with the Marks.
The principle behind every rule below: do not mislead people about what they are using or who runs it.
You do not need permission to:
- Refer to AIWatch accurately: "we use AIWatch", "data from AIWatch", "compatible with AIWatch".
- Link to ai-watch.dev or to this repository, and use the official badges and feeds exactly as documented in the README.
- Run a copy for your own use or your organisation's internal use.
- Fork this repository on GitHub, keeping the repository name
aiwatch, to develop changes or contribute them back. - Say truthfully that your project is a fork of, or is based on, AIWatch.
If you offer a copy of the software to the public as a service, whether or not you changed it, or you distribute a modified version as a product:
- Do not present it as the official AIWatch. Choose your own product name. You may describe the relationship in plain words: "[Your Name], based on AIWatch".
- Do not use the AIWatch logo or wordmark. Use your own branding.
- Show a notice where people use or download it, for example: "This is based on AIWatch (github.com/bentleypark/aiwatch). It is not operated, reviewed or endorsed by the AIWatch project."
- Keep your data separate. Statuses, scores and rankings produced by your own deployment must not be presented as AIWatch's own readings or as the "AIWatch Score" published at ai-watch.dev.
- Using the Marks, or anything confusingly similar, as part of your own product, company, domain, app, social-media account or organisation name. "Confusingly similar" includes spelling variations, phonetic equivalents, translations and transliterations of the Marks.
- Using the logo or the look of the official site in a way that suggests yours is the official one.
- Suggesting that the project has reviewed, certified, sponsored or endorsed your product, service or data.
- Registering the Marks, or similar marks, as trademarks, domain names or handles.
If you are already using the Marks in a way section 3 or 4 does not allow, please update it promptly, or contact us to agree a timeline.
Questions, permission requests and reports of confusing use: contact@ai-watch.dev. Include the URL and a short description. Silence is not permission.
We may update this policy. The version on this repository's default branch is the current one.
