P1 Memory Authority Closeout Report - June 22, 2026

Purpose: Publish the P1 memory-authority MVP closeout benchmark result and self-assessment. Status: evidence Read this when: You need to decide whether the P1 memory-authority loop has enough checked-in evidence for the next phase discussion. Not this document: A live adapter sweep, private-corpus production proof, or broad competitor comparison. Inputs: apps/elf-eval/fixtures/real_world_memory/p1_closeout/ and apps/elf-eval/fixtures/report_snapshots/2026-06-22-p1-memory-authority-closeout-report.json.

Command

cargo make real-world-memory-p1-closeout

The command runs the dedicated P1 closeout fixture slice and writes:

  • tmp/real-world-memory/p1-closeout/report.json
  • tmp/real-world-memory/p1-closeout/report.md

The checked-in JSON snapshot for this report is:

  • apps/elf-eval/fixtures/report_snapshots/2026-06-22-p1-memory-authority-closeout-report.json

Result

The P1 closeout slice passed its fixture-backed self-assessment:

Metric Value
Jobs 4
Pass 4
Wrong result 0
Unsupported claim count 0
Stale answer count 0
Conflict detections 2
Update rationales available 2
History readback encoded 2
Evidence coverage 1.000
Source-ref coverage 1.000
Quote coverage 1.000
Trace explainability jobs 1
Consolidation source mutation count 0

Encoded suites in this slice:

Suite Jobs Status Purpose
consolidation 1 pass Source Library -> Memory Candidate -> approved memory -> recall/debug readback.
memory_evolution 2 pass Stale decision suppression, correction persistence, rollback, update rationale, and history readback.
work_resume 1 pass Resume next action while refusing unsupported P2 and competitor-win claims.

The generated report intentionally lists untouched suites as not_encoded for this dedicated slice. Those not_encoded rows are report boundaries, not failures of the full benchmark suite.

Authority Chain Coverage

The slice covers the required MVP memory-authority chain:

  1. Source Library: p1-source-library-record captures the XY-1063 closeout requirement as source evidence.
  2. Memory Candidate: p1-memory-candidate records a reviewable candidate that cites the source and disallows source mutation.
  3. Approved memory: p1-approved-memory records the accepted memory promotion.
  4. Recall/debug: p1-recall-debug-trace shows selected approved memory and dropped stale P2 queue evidence, with cargo make real-world-memory-p1-closeout as the replay command.
  5. Correction/rollback: p1-correction-event, p1-rollback-event, and p1-current-corrected-memory prove the overbroad P2-ready memory was superseded and the safe phase gate was restored.

Self-Assessment

Improved:

  • P1 now has a dedicated cargo make real-world-memory-p1-closeout command instead of relying on the broad aggregate report to imply closeout coverage.
  • The fixture slice directly covers stale decision suppression, correction persistence, unsupported-claim refusal, and work-resume memory use.
  • The report preserves evidence/source-ref/quote coverage and trace readback for the source-to-memory chain.
  • The closeout states the P2 queue boundary explicitly instead of leaving it as an implied process rule.

Stayed blocked or bounded:

  • This is fixture-backed benchmark evidence, not a live service adapter sweep.
  • It does not prove private-corpus quality, provider-backed production quality, hosted memory behavior, UI/export parity, OpenViking trajectory parity, Letta core/archive parity, or broad graph/RAG quality.
  • Existing external adapter rows remain blocked, wrong_result, incomplete, not_encoded, or research_gate where their own reports say so.

Regressed:

  • No regression is detected in the P1 closeout fixture slice: the run reports 4 pass, 0 wrong_result, 0 unsupported claims, 0 stale answers, and 0 source mutations.
  • This closeout does not claim the full live adapter sweep regressed or improved.

Remains untested:

  • Live materialization of this exact P1 closeout slice through external competitor adapters.
  • Real private-corpus and provider-backed production quality.
  • P2 Knowledge Workspace implementation, UI flows, page watch/rebuild expansion, and any later-phase issue execution.

P2 Queue Decision

Self-assessment verdict: P1 closeout evidence is sufficient to start the main-thread discussion for the next phase.

Queue decision: P2 Knowledge Workspace work is ready to queue only after main-thread acceptance of this closeout and selection of the next narrow P2 issue. This report does not apply decodex:queued:elf to any P2 issue, and it does not authorize queueing multiple later-phase issues.

Claim boundary:

  • Do not claim broad competitor wins from this fixture-only closeout.
  • Do not treat not_encoded, blocked, wrong_result, incomplete, or research_gate external rows as pass evidence.
  • Do not claim private-corpus or provider-backed quality from this report.
