It depends on usage. Firebase has a very generous and easy to understand free tier: https://firebase.google.com/pricing
I have a small project which is basically an internal business app with maybe 2 dozen users; peaking at about 5K document reads in a week and haven't incurred a cost yet.

It shouldn't cost you anything in testing.
