Translation/Internationalization of Dashboards

Dear Billy, dear all,
I was wondering if—and, if so, how—it’s possible to automatically display dashboards in German instead of English, for example. I found the buttons for German and English in the settings at the top right of the Simwrapper visualization. However, nothing—or not much—seems to change in the actual visualization. In particular, I’m interested in how I can replace “Legend” with “Legende” in the map view and, when zooming out far enough on maps, display the country names in German.
And one more question: Is it possible to automatically include translations for modes such as “car,” “pt,” and “walk” in the dashboard’s YAML code, which are listed in the simulation output?

There is half-baked support for German, but as you have noticed the implementation is not complete. This has been on the long todo-list for a while.

The SimWrapper UI itself has been "internationalized" but not "localized". Meaning, we have the infrastructure in place to provide EN and DE strings, but have not actually translated most of the UI widgets. This is something that we might use AI to help with in the near future.

In your YAML configurations you can add bilingual titles and descriptions by providing both, e.g. title_en and title_de and same for description fields; but this is not universally supported. These fields are not well-documented since they are not fully implemented! Try them and see if they get you closer. And the data itself will be displayed as-is, from your input files.

Oh, and regarding auto-translations of mode strings: no, that is not currently supported. That would not be very difficult to add though!

Thanks for your answer, title_en/_de helped, especially for the dashboards themselves.
Strangely - when using title_en instead of title, the title for the dashboard is not displayed any more correctly in the left navigation bar. Instead, die filename (including some part of the path) is used as title here (while title at top of the dashboard is displayed correctly. Seems, that navigation is hardcoded to use "title", irrespective of language settings. So, one can specify "title" for ne navigation, and "title_en" and "title_de" for the dashboard - that works :-). (And as we currently do not need to show/export the complete UI, but dashboards only, that is no problem)
