Patina Studio: a Tauri desktop design tool shaped by shadcn/ui

We built Patina Studio, a closed-source Tauri desktop design environment that is currently free during beta. Its application chrome uses Andromeda a design system, which builds on shadcn/ui’s compositional, copy-and-own approach.

Patina Studio carries that foundation into a native creative tool: vector editing, auto-layout, components, prototyping, live data, assistant actions, and verification all operate under enforceable design-system rules.

The influence from shadcn/ui is substantial, and we wanted to acknowledge it properly, not simply include shadcn in a technology list.

Thank you, that genuinely made our day. One more thing from the build: we hit two bugs in Andromeda's Tooltip along the way and wrote them up properly, root causes and suggested fixes included. Where would you like the report, a GitHub issue or email?

github issue would be perfect. send it over and i’ll take a look.

also, i’m currently working on andromeda v2 it’s much more comprehensive, with dual themes and a lot more customization options. the original andromeda is frozen for the moment, but i’ll still do my best to fix these issues.

and i’m looking forward to you creating the x account too, i’ll definitely give you a shoutout there 🙌

Issue sent, with both root causes and the fixes we run locally. And good news on the other point: the X account already exists, @usepatinadotio A shoutout would mean a lot. Excited to hear about v2, dual themes and deeper customization sound exactly like where a system this good should go.
