OpenCode plugin ... auto-recall?

I've set up Hindsight on a local server and configured the OpenCode-Hindsight plugin integration. I think the setup is correct, as browsing the web app on my-hindsight-server:9999 shows the batch operations and the graph of facts and observations, etc).

So I see the auto-retain happening. And I have tested explicit retain and recall via the plugin tools.

When (if ever) should I expect the OpenCode plugin to auto-recall and inject, and how do I confirm if that's happened? Is there a event log or transcript somewhere that says such-and-so memories were injected back in to the context?

Auto-recall happens in two situations, both controlled by the autoRecall setting (defaults to true):

1. New session start — when you send your first message in a new session, the plugin recalls memories and injects them into the system prompt.
2. Context compaction — when OpenCode compacts the context window, the plugin recalls based on your last message and injects those memories into the compaction context so they survive the trim.

You can configure autoRecall in your opencode.json plugin options, in ~/.hindsight/opencode.json, or via the HINDSIGHT_AUTO_RECALL env var.

There isn't a dedicated event log, but there are two ways to confirm it's working:

1. Check the Hindsight control plane UI — you'll see recall operations on your bank when auto-recall fires.
2. Enable debug logging — set "debug": true in your plugin config (or HINDSIGHT_DEBUG=true env var). Debug output goes to stderr, which OpenCode's TUI swallows, so redirect it when launching opencode: opencode 2>/tmp/opencode-debug.log. Then in another terminal: tail -f /tmp/opencode-debug.log | grep Hindsight. You should see [Hindsight] Injected recall context for session ... after sending your first message.
