Firefox Teams Reset

Firefox WebExtension for resetting site data on the active tab. It was built for the web version of Microsoft Teams, where stale browser state can break login, loading, or call flows.

The extension clears the active site's:

  • Cookies
  • localStorage and sessionStorage
  • IndexedDB
  • CacheStorage
  • Service worker registrations

It does not collect or transmit user data.

Requires Firefox 142 or later.

Install for Development

npm install
npm run lint

Load temporarily in Firefox:

  1. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  2. Click Load Temporary Add-on....
  3. Select manifest.json from this folder.

Usage

  1. Open the broken Teams tab, or any other site you want to reset.
  2. Click the extension icon.
  3. Press Reset active site.

The extension resets data for the current hostname and reloads the tab.

Package

npm run build

The packaged extension is written to web-ext-artifacts/.

Notes

  • This is intentionally Firefox-first and currently uses Manifest V2 event pages.
  • Hostname-scoped cleanup does not reset other Microsoft identity domains such as login.microsoftonline.com unless you run the extension on those pages too.
  • Restricted browser pages such as about:* and moz-extension:* cannot be reset.
