A hands-on technical workshop organized by the Interswitch Developer Community – FUTO (IDC-FUTO) focused on learning how to integrate payment APIs following real industry system design practices.
This repository contains a simple starter project used during the workshop to demonstrate how to integrate Interswitch payment APIs into an existing system.
Event: Building Production-Ready Systems with Interswitch APIs
Organizer: Interswitch Developer Community – FUTO (IDC-FUTO)
Date: 7th March 2026
Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Google Meet
Session Facilitator:
Software Engineer from Interswitch Group
This session is not focused on learning APIs from scratch.
Instead, the goal is to teach developers how to:
- Integrate APIs into existing systems
- Follow industry-standard architecture practices
- Understand real-world payment flows
- Build production-ready integrations
Participants will work alongside the software engineer to implement a live API integration.
This is a hands-on session.
Participants are expected to:
- Join with their laptops
- Fork or clone the repository
- Build alongside the instructor
- Ask questions and troubleshoot together
The session simulates real engineering environments, where developers typically integrate APIs into existing applications rather than building systems from scratch.
During the session we will cover:
- Understanding payment system architecture
- Where APIs fit in real production systems
- How frontend and backend interact during payment flows
- Integrating Interswitch APIs into an existing application
- Handling requests, responses, and errors
- Best practices for building production-ready integrations
This repository provides a simple payment demo page that allows participants to focus on the integration layer.
Features include:
- Basic checkout UI
- Simple payment form
- "Pay Now" button
- Starter JavaScript function for integration
Participants will extend this project during the workshop to connect it with Interswitch APIs.
