Well, I have a Windows 3.11 installation in 8 disk images. DISK1.IMG..DISK8.IMG

I extracted all images to a single directory called "C:\WIN311" This way I don't need to change disks/paths during installation.

I execute "patcher9x", I tried the DOS version, the Win32 and Win64 binaries too, it asks to input the directory where the Windows 3.11 installation files are.

I write: "C:\WIN311", I press "Enter" but the program doesn't properly detect it's a Windows 3.11 installation directory, as I get the same options of Windows 9.x.

I even tried to input the patch of "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and again, I get the same options of Windows 9.x. It doesn't detect it's a Windows 3.11 SYSTEM directory.

Here is a screenshot.

If I try the third option, I get a message saying "Status: no patches to apply found" / "Patching process failure"

It seems that you are running patcher9x in a cmd window. It doesn't support cmd. You have to run it in DOS real mode.

Man, the program should work independently of the "console" window. Or otherwise they wouldn't develop native win32/win64 binaries that nowadays only run in a "cmd" window.

Well, when I use the regular DOS one it works patching Windows 3.11, but only if I input the "C:\Windows\System" directory. If I try patching the installation files it still doesn't detect them. At least in the situation I said above where I extract all disk images to a single directory.

AFAIK the patch works only on an already installed Windows 3.11 WfW (unlike the 9x patch, which also works on a 9x installation disc). Using cmd for the win32/win64 version is fine.

The patch is for the NDIS driver, you have to have wfw 3.11 with networking installed (so the setup has to detect a network card). Then either use the dos version, or the win32/win64 to patch windows\system, i.e. here I am patching with win64 patcher9x

Yeah, I know it works, but like I said, only if I input the "C:\Windows\System" directory. Not with the installation media. You said the same too.
