Plugin notices have a habit of asking for your attention when you’re trying to do something else. Relay gives them a home: one place to read, find, snooze, and archive them.
- Clear a batch at once. Select notices and archive them together. Undo is available for five minutes.
- Come back at the right time. Snooze for an hour, tomorrow morning, next week, or a date and time you choose.
- Keep what matters. Pin up to 25 notices. Mark notices read or unread yourself; opening Relay never marks them read.
- Quiet repeat senders. Preview and save rules for identified plugins. Warnings, errors, and pinned notices are protected from automatic archiving.
- Find your way back. Search by notice or sender, and filter by type, unread, or pinned.
- Stay in sync. New notices and your changes appear in other open inboxes. The unread badge follows along.

- Upload the ZIP and activate Relay.
- Open Relay in your admin menu. Visit other admin pages to start collecting their notices.
You’ll need an administrator account, WordPress 6.4 or newer, and PHP 7.4 or newer. This is a preview; try it on a staging site first.
Using OpenStation? Relay opens as a native desktop window with familiar controls and instant search. The dock and admin-menu entry lead to the same inbox. OpenStation is optional; native integration requires its App Framework.
Errors, warnings, save confirmations, and notices containing forms stay visible on their original pages. Archiving one in Relay only removes it from your inbox. If a notice can’t be saved, it stays on the page.
Relay collects standard notices as you visit admin pages, including notices added after the page loads. Custom banners and editor notifications may remain outside Relay. Some notices have an unknown sender; Relay won’t guess or apply sender rules to them.
Each administrator has a separate inbox on each site. In Settings, choose a limit of 50, 150, or 300 notices; pins are kept first. Older unpinned entries can be replaced as new notices arrive.
Sender rules apply when notices are collected again. Resetting a rule stops future automatic archiving; it doesn’t restore previously archived notices. A promotions-only rule works with notices explicitly labeled as promotions by their publisher.
Deleting your personal history removes your notices, including pins, and keeps your preferences. Future visits can collect notices again. Deactivating Relay keeps your inbox; deleting the plugin removes all its saved inboxes and preferences.
