Hi and welcome!

Github Linkedin Gmail

My name is Daniela and let me briefly tell you who I am, what I do, and what I like:

I've always been very curious, and that led me to become a scientist.

Since I was a teenager, unexplored worlds like the ocean and space caught my attention. I studied Physical Oceanography and then did a PhD in Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. But I never wanted to stop learning, and I always cared about the applications of science, so afterward I did a master's degree in Public Policy at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.

I'm interested in all the ways of observing the planet: from thousands of kilometers up with satellite-based sensors, from the ground with in situ measurements, or through climate modeling tools. Climate risk is where these tools make the most sense to me. Today I work on parametric insurance products, designing solutions to monitor risks and measure losses from natural disasters using satellites, machine learning, and data science. I lead the scientific agenda and coordinate the team behind these products.

I'm genuinely passionate about how the world works and how climate shapes it.

When I'm not a scientist, I play the piano and swim whenever I can.
