Business Operations Analyst at A-Z Industries | PFF Data Collector | UW–Madison Data Science & Information Science '25
Welcome to my GitHub Portfolio!
Hi everyone, my name is Ethan Friedman. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I studied Data Science and Information Science with a minor in Computer Science, and I'm currently working as a Business Operations Analyst.
I've been obsessed with sports for pretty much as long as I can remember. I was always the person looking through stats, comparing players, arguing about teams, and trying to figure out why certain players or teams were better than others. As I got older and started learning more about data science and programming, I realized I could combine the two and actually use data to answer some of the sports questions I'd always been curious about.
Today, I work with data every day, building dashboards, automating reporting, and analyzing business performance using tools like Python, SQL, Power BI, and Excel. Outside of work, a lot of my free time goes toward sports analytics projects. I've worked on projects across football, basketball, hockey, and baseball, and I'm constantly trying to learn something new or find a better way to look at the game.
My ultimate goal is to work in analytics or data engineering for a professional sports organization and use data to help teams make better decisions.
