The date of confirmation for several cases in the Global.health hantavirus linelist varied across sources and was not reported with consistency. Curators review all publicly available data and add case information with discretion.
We utilized several non-governmental, but authoritative sources or reputable scientific literature for curation, including by not limited to:

When available, we aimed to use government sources for case data. However, several government sources did not explicitly identify dates of confirmation, so date of date of publication was used instead where applicable.

- Example: Case 7, there was an official government press release from Switzerland's Federal Office of Public Health that notified of a confirmed case. No confirmation date was explicitly referenced in the source, so the date of source (2026-05-06) was used as the date of confirmation in the linelist. Upon further inspection, our other four sources cite a date of confirmation as 2026-05-05 for this case and cite sequence data on behalf of the Swiss National Reference Center for Emerging Viral Infections, Geneva University Hospitals and the Institute of Medical Virology, University of Zurich (Partner Laboratory National Reference Center for Emerging Viral Infections). Date_confirmation has been updated.
