Corpus Daimeticum

A provenance-first reading corpus of sacred and philosophical texts, published at corpus.agathodamon.com.

This repository is a public index of the live archive. The application source is maintained separately. Every published full text is a named historical edition or translation with a source URL, access date, SHA-256 checksum, and a per-work rights review. There is no blanket corpus-level license; rights are asserted only per work.

What is in the corpus

The current public collection is a rights-clean sample spanning twelve traditions, including Hermetic, Mesopotamian, Vedic, Daoist, Platonic, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Confucian, Islamic, Ancient Egyptian, and K'iche' Maya works. Editions are historical public-domain translations (1611–1919) by named scholars, not machine-generated summaries.

Full text is published only for sources in the redistributable rights lane. Research-only and metadata-only records stay off this public surface.

How this archive is funded

The live texts are free. Growing from the current sample toward a 2 TB working corpus and a 16 TB archival collection requires off-machine storage (about $12/month at 2 TB and about $96/month at 16 TB, Backblaze B2 list-price planning estimates). The support page states the traffic and revenue gates for each funding rung. There is no live donation processor yet.

How to cite

See CITATION.cff, or cite a specific work from its live provenance record (each work page includes a “How to cite this page” line). Example for the archive as a whole:

Rolnick, Damon. Corpus Daimeticum. https://corpus.agathodamon.com. Accessed YYYY-MM-DD.

Rights

Do not assume CC-BY, MIT, or any other bulk license for the collection. Inspect the per-work license and checksum on the dataset page and on each work’s provenance record.
