- Example were created for 1" Charlotte Pipe available at Home Depot
- You can use furniture grade PVC from Formufit, and it will save you the painting step if you match it to the PLA color of your liking. If you do, make sure to update the inner tube dimensions on the model.
- If you don't have a 3D printer, you can use a service like https://craftcloud3d.com/
- The spikes are used where $20 from Amazon. You can use less expensive ones from AliExpress. If you do you will need to update the thread patten at the bottom of the stands.
- Takes about 48 hours to print parts for two speakers in my Prusa Mini+ with input shaper enabled.
- Used Hatchbox PLA Pro Plus. Tried PETG but I did not like how the parts came out.
This part did not fit on my printer's print plate, so I had to handy "Cut" tool on PrusaSlicer and added a hexagonal plug connector.
- Make sure you clean up the threads at the top and bottom.
- Dry test fit all the parts.
- Glue the top connector.
- Sand the PVC pipe inside surface to epoxy adheres to it.
- Clean parts with acetone before gluing.
- Glue bottom connector and tubes fist and let the glue settle.
- Glue leg tubes to bottom part.
- Fill leg tubes with sand.
- Glue top connector to leg tubes.
- After glue dries, give the stands a good sanding using 150 grit paper.
- Clean with acetone
- Apply the primer and let it dry. I used
- Rust-Oleum 334017 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Primer, 12 oz, Flat Gray.
- Apply two coats of the color of your choice.
- Rust-Oleum 334097 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint, 12 oz, Semi-Gloss Black.
Price for a pair of these stands ranges from $90 to $190 depending on choices.
