Seaview
For Linux (Ubuntu-based distros), you can install Seaview with simply
sudo apt-get install seaview
However the binaries of muscle and clustalo will not be included - download these from the project site and for each, (extract and) put them in your path with mv /usr/bin {file} (you can also overwrite the seaview binary in /usr/bin/seaview if you want)
You can just put the archived binaries from the project site onto your path - however you won't get the .desktop file (menu item in your launcher)
AliView
AliView is an alignment editor / viewer published in 2014 - project site here, download page here: download and extract the .tgz archive,
cd aliview
sudo ./install.sh
This adds the Java program under /usr/share and adds a .desktop file under ~/.local/share
