Problem

The release pipeline is failing with:

Error: Failed to create deployment (status: 400)
Missing environment. Ensure your workflow's deployment job has an environment.

This occurs when trying to deploy changes to GitHub Pages (via the 'Deploy changes to GitHub Pages' step in the release workflow).

Solution

Add the required environment: github-pages declaration to the release-chart job in the reusable workflow. This tells GitHub Actions where the deployment is targeting.

Files Changed

  • .github/workflows/chart-release-steps.yaml - Added environment declaration to release-chart job

Testing

This will allow the release pipeline to successfully deploy Helm charts to GitHub Pages.

The 'Deploy changes to GitHub Pages' step requires the job to declare
the 'github-pages' environment. Without this, GitHub Actions returns a
400 error: 'Missing environment. Ensure your workflow's deployment job
has an environment.'

This fixes the release pipeline failure that occurred after PR #1 merge.
