Actually pretty buggy and not really well thinked. Probably something better to imagine.

What about a "presets systems" ? A preset it's a "type of renderer" and a collection of values for that renderer ... You can change the renderer and then tweak the params ... then "save" as a new preset. A preset when recalled opens up the needed renderer and applies the saved params .... ?

This is similar to what you have .... but i've been using it in some projects with good results.

With your new issue/question talking about AnimStuff inheriting from ofxIldaFrame ... not sure if the renderer + presets scheme could be useful... ?¿

Could be a good idea/system.

I assume that in the LaserLiveTool case we might need to always have a list of ALL presets (independently of what kind of renderer they're meant to) . This could be done and so keep a similar function as you have now ... where you have a list of ALL presets and you can click between them without having to open a file dialog ... that could be done ...

Basically i'm using the ofxUI save/loadSettings function to save my presets.

It's damm simple ... but it might work ...

This is the scenario i imagine ...

You open the software and you can choose to play a "preset" (of whatever kind) from a list ... Then you can VJ with diferent presets as u are doing now ...
But you can also click on the renderer and then you go to that renderer ... without saving nothing ... you play with the renderer ... and if you're happy with the result you can save that combination of that renderer with that parameters as a new preset ... this new preset is added then to the preset list ...

?¿ Let's talk about it on skype ... writing it it's quite confusing maybe ...
