What kind of problem does this lib solve?

Mostly it's intended to reduce the amount of code needed to create command line applications. It's also intended to give structure to your command line application (to simplify the reuse of your code). You should be able to test and wire up your own classes.

Ok, I still don't get it

Libraries like ndesc options are great for command line tools where one exe is one action. What if you have a lot of things that you want to be able to script?

Your code should not know that it's a command line tool. It's an api for command line usage that you later on might want to expose in a different format (could be http).

When should you use it?

This tool is written intended as a helper library when developing business applications. The goal is to be able to early on access the object model and interact with your code. Early on in the project you might not have any business data (or administration gui to add that data). With Isop you can have one exe to: Setup default data, Creating a customer, Creating a catalog of products et.c..
